Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati

  • Arrival at Guwahati Airport at 23:30 hrs.
  • Private transfer to the hotel for check-in.
  • Inclusions: Packed dinner in the room for late-night convenience.
  • Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 2: Guwahati – Kamakhya Temple – Kaziranga

  • Early morning visit to the Kamakhya Temple, one of India's most sacred pilgrimage sites.
  • After breakfast, proceed to Kaziranga National Park (approx. 5 hours).
  • Check-in at your Kaziranga hotel and relax.
  • Inclusions: Breakfast and dinner.
  • Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 3: Kaziranga Safari – Shillong

  • Early morning Elephant Safari at Kaziranga National Park. Witness exotic wildlife, including the one-horned rhinoceros.
  • Post-safari, return to the hotel for breakfast and check out.
  • Drive to Shillong (approx. 7 hours). En route, enjoy scenic views of rolling hills and valleys.
  • Evening arrival in Shillong and check-in at your hotel.

Day 4: Shillong Local Sightseeing

  • After breakfast, embark on a full-day exploration of Shillong, known as the "Scotland of the East."

  • Must-visit attractions include:

    1. Elephant Falls: A picturesque three-tiered waterfall set amidst lush greenery, perfect for photography and relaxation.
    2. Shillong Peak: The highest point in Shillong offering panoramic views of the city and surrounding valleys.
    3. Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures: A museum showcasing the rich heritage and culture of Northeast India's tribes.
    4. Ward’s Lake: A serene, horseshoe-shaped lake ideal for leisurely strolls and paddle boating (optional).
    5. Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians: A beautiful Roman Catholic cathedral known for its unique architecture.

  • Later in the evening, visit Police Bazar, Shillong's bustling marketplace, for shopping and trying local street food.

  • Return to your hotel and relax.

Day 5: Dawki – Mawlynnong – Nohwet

  • Morning: After breakfast, drive to Dawki, a picturesque town on the India-Bangladesh border.

    • Visit the Umngot River, famous for its crystal-clear waters. Optional: Enjoy a serene boat ride on the river.
    • Marvel at the border landscape and take photos near the India-Bangladesh boundary.

  • Midday: Head to Mawlynnong, recognized as Asia’s Cleanest Village.

    • Savor a traditional lunch in the village while experiencing the warm hospitality of the locals.
    • Stroll through the charming lanes of Mawlynnong, appreciating its eco-friendly lifestyle, blooming gardens, and immaculate cleanliness.

  • Afternoon: Visit the nearby Nohwet Riwat Village, home to the famous Single Living Root Bridge.

    • Walk through the forested path to witness this bio-engineered marvel crafted by generations using live tree roots.
    • Learn about the history and significance of the bridge from locals.

  • Return to Shillong by evening.

Day 6: Shillong – Umiam Lake – Guwahati Drop

  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Guwahati.
  • En route, stop at the Umiam Lake viewpoint to admire its stunning natural beauty.
  • Drop at Guwahati Airport at 15:30 hrs for your onward journey.
