Day 1: Arrival in Bagdogra (IXB) - Drive to Gangtok (Approx. 4-5 Hours)

  • Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB), meet your driver and embark on a scenic drive to Gangtok.
  • As you journey through lush greenery and mountain landscapes, enjoy the fresh air and stunning views that welcome you to Sikkim.
  • Upon arrival in Gangtok, check-in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Explore nearby markets or simply relax with views of the mountains.

Day 2: Gangtok Local Sightseeing

  • After breakfast, set off on a full-day exploration of Gangtok’s iconic sights.
    • Rumtek Monastery: A key spiritual center of Tibetan Buddhism, this majestic monastery is renowned for its architecture, serene atmosphere, and sacred relics. Soak in the peaceful ambiance and learn about its rich history.
    • Namgyal Institute of Tibetology: Delve into the history and culture of Tibetan Buddhism at this museum, which showcases ancient manuscripts, artifacts, and thangkas (Tibetan scroll paintings).
    • Do Drul Chorten Stupa: A revered Buddhist monument surrounded by prayer wheels. Join the pilgrims in spinning the wheels for blessings and good fortune.

Day 3: Day Excursion to Tsomgo Lake, Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, and Nathula Pass (Subject to Operation)

  • Post breakfast, embark on a thrilling day trip to the higher altitudes of Sikkim:

    • Tsomgo Lake: This glacial lake, perched at 12,310 feet, is a stunning sight with its pristine waters reflecting the surrounding snow-capped mountains. Take in the breathtaking views, and if the season allows, you might even enjoy a yak ride around the lake.
    • Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple: A revered shrine dedicated to an Indian Army soldier, known for his folklore among locals and soldiers. The temple holds deep spiritual significance.
    • Nathula Pass (optional, subject to availability): This historic mountain pass on the Indo-China border offers jaw-dropping views of the Himalayas. Note: Nathula Pass requires a special permit, and its visit depends on weather and availability.
  • Return to Gangtok by evening for relaxation and reflection.

Day 4: Gangtok - Departure to Bagdogra (IXB)

  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive back to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) for your onward journey.
