Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi to Shimla (370 km)

  • Start early in the morning from Delhi.
  • Enjoy a scenic drive to Shimla, arriving by evening.
  • Check into your hotel and unwind.
  • Stroll along the Mall Road and visit the Ridge to soak in Shimla’s colonial charm.

Day 2: Shimla to Sangla to Chitkul (240 km)

  • Depart early for Sangla, driving through picturesque valleys.
  • Arrive in Sangla by afternoon and continue to Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border.
  • Overnight stay in Chitkul.

Day 3: Chitkul to Nako (150 km)

  • Begin your journey to Nako, passing through lush landscapes.
  • Pause at Khab Sangam to marvel at the confluence of the Spiti and Sutlej rivers.
  • Arrive in Nako by evening and explore the tranquil Nako Lake.
  • Overnight stay in Nako.

Day 4: Nako to Kaza (160 km)

  • Start early and visit Gue Monastery, home to a 500-year-old naturally preserved mummy.
  • Continue to Tabo Monastery, renowned for its ancient murals and sculptures.
  • Visit Dhankar Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff.
  • Reach Kaza by evening and check into your hotel.
  • Overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 5: Kaza Local Sightseeing

  • Spend the day exploring the high-altitude villages around Kaza.
  • Visit Hikkim (home to the world’s highest post office), Langza (known for its Buddha statue), and Komic (one of the highest villages).
  • Tour Key Monastery, the largest monastery in Spiti Valley.
  • Return to Kaza for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Kaza to Chandratal (100 km)

  • Depart from Kaza, visiting Kibber Village and Chicham Bridge en route.
  • Cross Kunzum Pass and arrive at Chandratal Lake, also known as the "Moon Lake."
  • Overnight camping near the lake under the starlit sky.

Day 7: Chandratal to Manali (120 km)

  • Leave Chandratal in the morning and drive through Losar.
  • Cross the Atal Tunnel, one of the world’s longest high-altitude tunnels.
  • Arrive in Manali by afternoon and enjoy leisure time exploring Mall Road.
  • Overnight stay in Manali.

Day 8: Manali to Delhi (550 km)

  • Begin your return journey from Manali in the morning.
  • Reach Delhi by evening, concluding the tour with unforgettable memories of the Himalayan adventure.
