Itinerary

D1: Arrival in Leh Distance: 20km

Arrive at Leh between 1100 and 1300 Hrs, complete your existing formalities, and meet the driver at the parking area. The driver will take you to the Hotel. Check-in (Standard check-in time at 1400 Hrs) and relax at the hotel. Overnight at Leh.

D2: Leh – Sham Valley - Leh Distance: 200km

After breakfast, visit Leh sightseeing Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, Sangam Point in Nimoo, Magnetic Hills, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, and Hall of Fame (optional sound and light show at your own cost). Evening visit to the market. Overnight at Leh.

D3: Leh – Khardung La – Nubra/Hunder Distance: 126km

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Nubra Valley via Khardung la pass which is known as the world’s highest motorable road at an altitude of 18300 feet, and then proceed to the famous Maitreya Buddha Statue. Later, drive to Hunder which is famous for Sand Dunes and double hump Camels. Overnight at Nubra/Hunder

D4: Nubra/Hunder – Turtuk – Nubra/Hunder Distance: 170km

Drive to Turtuk after a nice breakfast. Turtuk is one of the gates to the Siachen Glacier and is the last outpost in India before entering Pakistan-controlled Gilgit-Baltistan. Because it is part of the GilgitBaltistan area, it is culturally, linguistically, and historically distinct from the rest of your Ladakh vacation. Return to the hotel. Overnight at Nubra/Hunder

If time permits visit the Siachen Glacier is the highest battleground on earth, where India and Pakistan have fought intermittently since 13 April 1984. Both countries maintain a permanent military presence in the region at a height of over 6,000 meters (20,000 ft)

D5: Nubra/Hunder – Pangong – Man Distance: 180km

Wake up early at 5 am, check out and proceed to Pangong via the adventurous Shyok river route, after crossing some water streams, take a break for breakfast, then cross the Shyok river. Arrive at 3 Idiots shooting point in Pangong Tso and take a short break for a photo session. Later, proceed to Pangong Tso Camp. Overnight at Man.

D6: Man – Umling La - Hanle Distance: 200km

After breakfast proceed to Umling La is the highest paved road and mountain pass in the world, located in Ladakh, India on the ridgeline between Koyul Lungpa and the Indus River near Demchok. Later to Hanle a remote village close to the Tibet border on the banks of the Indus River. Being a Remote village, there are no big hotels or resorts, so we stay at a local cozy homestay. At Hanle, there is an observatory and if authority permits you can visit it. Overnight at Hanle.

D7: Hanle – Tso Moriri – Tso Kar – Leh Distance: 400km

After breakfast proceed to Tso Moriri via Mahe Bridge where we cross the Indus River. Tso Moriri or Lake Moriri or Mountain Lake is a lake in the Changthang Plateau in Ladakh in Northern India. The lake and surrounding area are protected as the Tso Moriri Wetland Conservation Reserve. The lake is at an altitude of 4,522 m. Unlike many lakes in the Himalayas, this is a water lake and hence you can witness a lot of high-altitude rare birds around the lake. Visit Tso Kar which is a Salt Lake known for its size and depth situated in the Rupshu Plateau and valley, and Puga Valley is situated in the Changthang Valley in the south-eastern part of Ladakh, about 22 km away from the Salt Lake Valley. It is a region of great significance known for its natural beauty and geothermal activities. Puga is also visited for its hot sulphur spring. Overnight at Leh.

D8: Departure from Leh Distance: 20km

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to the airport.
